Recently, during the second race of the WorldSSP (Supersport) category at the 2026 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) Czech Round, Chinese motorcycle manufacturer "Zhangxue Motorcycles" once again secured a commanding victory. With aggressive cornering, steady sprints, and the resounding roar of engines echoing across the circuit, the team delivered a thrilling performance.
This latest triumph for "Zhangxue Motorcycles" would not have been possible without the support of "Made in Jiangmen" manufacturing expertise. Several critical components of the championship-winning motorcycle—specifically its "head, tail, and heart" (the helmet, exhaust system, and engine cylinder)—were all supplied by local manufacturing enterprises in Jiangmen.
Beyond the racetrack, intelligent production lines are running at full speed within the workshops of major enterprises. Robotic arms execute precise operations, while workers systematically carry out the entire production workflow—including assembly, debugging, quality inspection, and packaging. The steady stream of brand-new motorcycles rolling off the lines, coupled with production lines operating at full capacity, serves as a vivid testament to these enterprises' commitment to fulfilling overseas orders. Moreover, it stands as a living microcosm of "Made in China" products advancing into the global high-end market and achieving a transformation and upgrade in foreign trade.
Foreign Trade Data Reflects Growth Resilience
Consecutive victories on the world stage have significantly boosted the international profile of Chinese motorcycles and driven a sustained increase in export orders for motorcycle enterprises in Jiangmen.
"Currently, our backlog of orders exceeds 60,000 units; our production schedule for May and June is completely full, with scheduling now extending into July," stated Tang Fuxing, Deputy General Manager of International Trade at Jiangmen Zhenghao Motorcycle Co., Ltd. To ensure the timely delivery of orders, the company has continuously expanded its production facilities, flexibly leasing additional factory space to boost manufacturing capacity. Simultaneously, the company has strategically adjusted its production shifts, transitioning from a single-shift system to a full-capacity, two-shift operation.
The latest import and export data from Jiangmen Customs corroborates the strong growth momentum of the city's motorcycle export sector. Following "Zhangxue Motorcycles'" victory in the WorldSSP category at the WSBK Portugal Round in March, Jiangmen City recorded significant export figures in April: exports of medium-displacement motorcycles reached 260 million RMB—a substantial year-on-year increase of 59.2% and a month-on-month increase of 52.4%. Exports of large-displacement motorcycles totaled 160 million RMB—marking a robust year-on-year increase of 53% and a month-on-month increase of 37.3%. The growth in motorcycle exports has also driven a substantial surge in the export of parts and accessories. In April, exports of motorcycle components reached 190 million yuan—a 31% increase month-on-month—while helmet exports totaled 80 million yuan, up 23.6% from the previous month.
"Overseas orders for China's leading motorcycle manufacturers have long been at full capacity," stated Zhang Hongming, Head of the Planning Department at Jiangmen Everest Motorcycle Co., Ltd., during an interview with the *China Securities Journal*. "The frequent victories of 'Zhangxue Racing' in the WSBK [World Superbike Championship] have further boosted the global profile of Chinese-made motorcycles, allowing overseas buyers to witness firsthand the formidable capabilities of domestic models."
Stepping into the Everest Motorcycle production facility, one finds intelligent production lines operating at full capacity, with components—such as engines, frames, and bearings—moving rapidly through the assembly process. Zhang Hongming noted that the company currently boasts a comprehensive product portfolio, spanning the full spectrum of models: from fuel-powered motorcycles and three-wheelers to electric mobility scooters and high-end, large-displacement motorcycles. These products are exported to numerous regions worldwide, including Southeast Asia, South America, and Europe.
"The successful global expansion of 'Zhangxue Racing' has effectively established the reputation of 'Made in China' products," Zhang Hongming added. "This provides a powerful promotional boost to our country's motorcycle export sector and promises long-term benefits for the industry's international trade development."
Robust Technology: The Foundation for Global Success
The inherent strength of a product serves as the ultimate confidence booster for venturing into overseas markets. "In the past, we relied on OEM manufacturing to drive volume; now, we rely on technology to build our brand," remarked Tang Fuxing, succinctly capturing the core essence of the ongoing transformation within Jiangmen's motorcycle industry.
At the 139th Canton Fair, Zhenghao Motorcycle unveiled its flagship product: the Tianhao X9GT—an original, independently developed range-extended electric motorcycle designed specifically for two-wheeled vehicles. "This product incorporates core technologies developed entirely in-house by our company," Tang Fuxing explained. "We are currently among the first domestic enterprises to achieve mass production of this specific product category, and we are actively pursuing patent applications for its core inventive technologies." Tang noted that the Tianhao X9GT boasts an impressive economic cruising range of up to 880 kilometers. Its energy consumption costs have been drastically reduced, with the cost per 100 kilometers amounting to just 1.35 yuan for electric power alone, or 12 yuan for combined hybrid (fuel-electric) operation—figures that significantly outperform traditional fuel-powered motorcycles. Consequently, major buyers from various countries have organized delegations to visit the Jiangmen facility to conduct factory inspections and negotiate customized partnership solutions. "In the realm of electric motorcycles, China has already taken a leading position globally," Tang Fuxing stated confidently. "Domestic enterprises possess a comprehensive supply chain for components and mature battery energy storage technologies; furthermore, they benefit from shared access to cutting-edge technological resources within the automotive industry. Consequently, they hold unparalleled advantages in terms of R&D costs, the pace of technological iteration, and mass production capabilities."
Zhang Hongming noted that, currently—when compared to leading global enterprises in related fields—Chinese motorcycle manufacturers exhibit only a slight gap in the area of original vehicle design; however, high-caliber domestic design teams are rapidly emerging. "At present, numerous renowned European luxury motorcycle brands have chosen to relocate their production to China. They are also engaging in Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) collaborations with domestic automakers. The global market has demonstrated a high level of recognition for the R&D prowess behind China's complete motorcycle manufacturing and engine production capabilities," Zhang said.
Brand Globalization: A Testament to Upgraded Foreign Trade
"Avoid 'white-labeling' whenever possible"—this has become a shared consensus regarding development strategy among motorcycle manufacturers in Jiangmen, and indeed across the entire nation. my country's motorcycle manufacturing sector is gradually shedding its old paradigm—characterized by passive contract manufacturing and intense, low-margin domestic competition—and is fully transitioning onto a new track defined by independent branding and value-driven competition.
"In the past, our enterprises focused primarily on contract manufacturing operations. Today, leveraging the robust capabilities of our new energy products, we are going all out to drive our independent brands into the global market. We now prominently display our proprietary brand logos on our products. Furthermore, we are pioneering a model of joint collaboration between Chinese and foreign entities, thereby showcasing the 'Made in China' motorcycle brand identity on the global stage," Tang Fuxing told a reporter from the *China Securities Journal*.
The tangible results of this industrial transformation are clearly reflected in foreign trade statistics. According to data from the China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce, the average export price of Chinese motorcycles is projected to surpass $660 in 2025—a figure representing a twofold increase over the past decade. The industry is steadily shedding its former labels of being "low-end" and "low-priced," thereby achieving a fundamental transformation: shifting from a focus on sheer volume to a focus on quality, and from scale-driven growth to value creation.
From clinching victories on the racetrack to securing a surge in global orders, the international journey of a single motorcycle serves as a vivid microcosm of the structural transformation currently underway in China's foreign trade sector. Bidding farewell to extensive growth driven solely by scale expansion and advancing toward high-quality development centered on value enhancement; breaking free from the passive constraints of OEM and private-label manufacturing to stand tall upon the backbone of independent innovation; and casting aside competitive models based on low prices and high volume to cultivate the long-term future of global brand expansion—as smart manufacturing continues to upgrade and brand influence steadily expands, "Made in China" is now standing tall with a brand-new stature at the upper echelons of the global industrial chain, writing a new legend in the upgrading of foreign trade.
